Experiencing her dance I slowly find my way as
an arm stretches lightly forward
another arm smoothes the rough edges and delicate hairs
a hand gently rotating until palm upward, bare and delicate to all the world
I breathe in, and out, in and out
Watching her move I feel expansion, like someone opened my heart and lungs
and breathed a gush of wind, a lashing of air
deep in bones and viscera
A oneness of air and bone,
body and breath
you and me

listening as the basis for writing

Noticing and Listening as the basis for writing.
Notice a sensation, let imagination be drawn freely, pay attention to the sound of heartbeat, the feel of breath...these are points from which you can begin.

Follow an impulse to write, a story of dancing...
A hand rotates,  to reveal palm, a twist of bone
Allow this to flow… onto the page.

Follow an impulse to write, a story of dancing...
the sound of falling, the feeling of heartbeat
Allow this to flow… onto the page.

a story of a dance that has been danced or that might be danced

I thought we might write together… a story of a dance. A dance that has been danced, or one that might be danced… the story of your dance, your dancing. Shall we start with something small? The small inner dance of the fluttering heart. Beat Beat, Beat Beat. I thought we might write a story together… a story of a dance. A dance that has been danced, or one that might be danced… the story of your dance, your dancing. Shall we start with something close? The rotation of the hand as it turns to reveal the palm, the twist of bone. I thought we might write a story together… a story of a dance. A dance that has been danced, or one that might be danced… the story of your dance, your dancing.
